BREAD PUDDING 
2 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. raisins
3 c. bread, soft or stale, pulled into pieces

Scald milk with butter. In a large bowl, blend together the milk and butter, sugar, eggs, salt, cinnamon and raisins. Add the bread, using 4 cups if you want a firmer pudding. Mix well and place in a 1 1/2 quart greased baking dish. Place dish in a pan with 1 inch of water. Set in 350 degree oven and bake 40 to 50 minutes. Serve with cream or hard sauce made from powdered sugar, a scant of milk, and vanilla.
