OATMEAL CAKE 
Combine:

1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal

Let cool.

Mix:

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs

Add:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Pinch of salt

Add cooled oatmeal mixture. Put mixture in greased and floured 9x12 pan. Bake 50 minutes at 350 degrees then spread with frosting.

FROSTING:

Mix:

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. coconut
6 tbsp. Crisco, melted
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. canned milk

Broil on cake.
