CHOCOLATE OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 c. uncooked oatmeal
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 sqs. chocolate, melted
3/4 tsp. cinnamon

Grease bottom of 13 x 9 inch pan. Pour boiling water over oats in mixing bowl. Stir; cover and let stand 15 minutes. In another bowl, beat oil and sugars and blend in vanilla, eggs, and melted chocolate. Add oats mixture and mix well. Add flour and cinnamon to creamed mixture, mixing well. Pour in pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until cake tests done. Spread frosting over warm cake.

FROSTING:

1/2 c. brown sugar
3 tsp. milk
3/4 c. flaked coconut
1/4 c. melted butter
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Combine all ingredients and spread gently over warm cake. Broil cake about 6 inches from heat for 1 to 2 minutes until mixture is bubbly.
