BASIC SWEET DOUGH 
2 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 cakes or pkgs. dry yeast
3 eggs
1/2 c. butter
7 - 7 1/2 c. flour
1 c. raisins

Heat milk, sugar, salt, and butter until butter melts. Put yeast in small bowl with water to dissolve. Add 2 teaspoons sugar to get yeast started. Cool milk and sugar mixture slightly before you mix in dissolved yeast. Add eggs, flour, and raisins. Mix good. You want a semi-soft dough. When mixed, put in a greased, large bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let rise to top of bowl. Punch down. Make coffee cakes and cinnamon rolls.

Top your coffee cakes with melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Very tasty. Bake these about 30-35 minutes or until golden at 375 degrees. This will make 5 (9 inch) coffee cakes.
