ENGLISH WALNUT BARS 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk (save white for top)
1 c. chopped walnuts
2 c. flour

Cream butter, sugar and egg yolk. Mix in 2/3 cup nuts and flour. Pat out dough onto 2 x 15 inch jelly roll pan. Beat egg whites until frothy. Spread on top. Sprinkle on remaining nuts. Bake at 275 degrees for approximately one hour. Cut into squares while hot!
