MOM'S DINNER ROLLS | |
1 pkg. dry yeast 1/2 c. warm water 1/2 c. shortening 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg, beaten 2 c. warm water 8 c. flour Stir in all ingredients in a large bowl. Let rise for 3 hours. Pinch off small amounts and roll to form a small ball. Place on greased cookie sheet. Let rise until double in size. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until golden brown. NOTE: To make a day ahead of time, only bake the rolls for 5 minutes. The next day when you need them, place in the oven and finish baking until brown. |
