MULLED CINNAMON CIDER 
1/2 gal. apple cider
6 cinnamon sticks
1 tbsp. whole cloves
2 tbsp. allspice berries
Zest of 1 orange
Rum (optional)
Cinnamon sticks

In a large saucepan, combine cider, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice, and orange zest. Bring to a boil; turn down heat and cover tightly. Simmer 15 minutes. Strain mixture into mugs. Add 2 tablespoons rum to each mug if desired. Garnish each mug with cinnamon stick. Serve hot. Makes about 8 1-cup servings.
