BEEF STEW 
2 lbs. Swiss or Sirloin steak
2 med. onions
1 lb. string beans
4 to 5 lg. carrots
4 to 5 lg. potatoes
2 sm. cans tomato sauce
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)

Saute onion with salt and pepper. Remove fat from meat and cube. Add meat to the onion and simmer, uncovered, for 1/2 hour. Add tomato sauce plus 2 cans water and simmer, uncovered, for 1/2 hour. Add vegetables and cook until tender.
