CHOCOLATE CHESS PIE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp. all purpose flour
1 tbsp. cornmeal
1/2 c. chopped pecans
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
1 unbaked 9 inch pastry shell
Sifted powdered sugar (optional)

Combine first 6 ingredients in a medium bowl, mix well. Combine eggs, milk and vanilla, stir into dry ingredients and mix well. Pour into pastry shell, bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes or until pie is set. Cool on a wire rack. Lightly sift powdered sugar over pie, if desired. Yield: one 9 inch pie.
