1 c. butter, softened
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
6 tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy; add eggs, mixing well. Stir in milk and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Chill.

Roll dough out on a lightly floured board to 1/8-inch thickness; cut with shaped cookie cutters. Place on lightly greased cookie sheets; bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

Decorate as desired with decorator candies and icing. Yield: about 5 dozen cookies.
