STRAWBERRY JAM CAKE 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. strawberry preserves
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. nuts

Cream the shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Put in your strawberry preserves and mix well. Sift dry ingredients and add to sugar mixture. Then, add buttermilk; mix well. Add nuts and bake in pan for 45 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
