MANDEL BREAD | |
1 c. oil 1 c. sugar 4 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. almond extract 3 1/2 c. unsifted flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 1/4 c. sliced almonds (can substitute chopped walnuts) 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon Cream together oil and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla and almond extracts. Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in nuts. Shape into 4 long loaves on greased cookie sheets. Combine sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle half on top of loaves. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Slice while warm. Turn pieces on sides. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon and sugar. Toast in oven 5 minutes. Cool. |
