ITALIANO MEAT PIE | |
1 deep dish pie crust shell 1 1/2 lb. ground beef 1/3 c. chopped green pepper 2 cans (8 oz. each) tomato sauce 1 can (4 oz.) mushroom (drained) 3 tbsp. water 1/4 tsp. oregano 1/4 t tsp. basil 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/3 c. Parmesan cheese 2 c. (8 oz.) shredded Mozzarella cheese Preheat oven to cookie sheet to 400 degrees. In large skillet, brown ground beef. Drain well. Add green pepper and cook 2 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce, mushrooms, water, oregano, basil and garlic powder. Simmer 10 minutes. Sprinkle half the Parmesan cheese over bottom of pie crust. Spread half the beef mixture over Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle with 1 cup Mozzarella cheese. Layer remaining beef and Parmesan cheese. Bake on preheated cookie sheet 25 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cup of Mozzarella cheese. Return to oven 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. |
