AUSTRIAN CRESCENT COOKIES | |
1 c. softened butter (2 sticks) 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar 2 tbsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. walnuts, chopped fine 1 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour Cream butter; add 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla and salt. Beat until light. Stir in nuts and flour until well blended. Wrap dough in wax paper and chill. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Divide dough into 8 pieces on floured board and shape into rolls 1/2 inch in diameter; cut in 2 pieces and taper off ends - shape in crescents. Put on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 18 to 20 minutes at 325 degrees. Remove to cool on wire rack. Sift confectioners' sugar on top. Yields: 5 dozen. |
