PRALINES 
2 c. white sugar
2 tbsp. white Karo
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. pecans

Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Combine all ingredients except pecans in a deep saucepan. Cook, stirring often until mixture forms a firm ball when tested in cold water. Remove from heat; beat until creamy. Add nuts and drop from a teaspoon onto waxed paper. Yield: 3 dozen.
