CRISP SUGAR DROP COOKIES | |
2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. Arm & Hammer or Cow brand soda 1 tsp. salt 1 egg, slightly beaten 2 tbsp. white (distilled) vinegar 1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 1. Sift flour with baking soda and salt. 2. Combine egg with vinegar, lemon rind and vanilla. 3. Cream butter and shortening until smooth and fluffy. 4. Add sugar gradually, creaming well. 5. Add dry ingredients and egg mixture alternately, a little at a time, blending well after each addition. 6. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet and flatten with floured tines of fork. Sprinkle with sugar. 7. Bake at 400 degrees F. (hot oven) 10 to 12 minutes. |
