2 1/3 c. muffin mix
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 c. applesauce
1/4 c. milk
1 egg, beaten

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Butter muffin pans. In a medium bowl, combine muffin mix, nuts and cloves. Combine applesauce, milk and egg in a small bowl. Add all at once to dry ingredients. Stir until just moistened; batter should be lumpy. Fill prepared muffin pans 2/3 full. Bake 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown. Makes 12 large muffins.
