HAM AND STRING BEAN SOUP 
3 to 5 lb. smoked picnic ham
10 med. potatoes, peeled and diced
1 lg. bag of French style string beans

Trim excess fat from ham. Put in dutch oven, fill about half way with water. Bake at 350 degrees for about 4 hours, until ham falls from the bone.

Remove ham and cut into bite size pieces. Add enough water to fill pot back to half full. Add diced potatoes cook until done. Add string beans and ham the last 10 minutes.

Serve with vinegar, a dash to your bowl adds a little zest.
