MICROWAVE FANTASY FUDGE
3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter
3 c. sugar
2/3 c. evaporated milk
12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
7 oz. jar marshmallow creme
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Microwave butter in 4-quart microwave-safe bowl on high (100%) 1 minute or until melted. Add sugar and milk; mix well. Microwave on high 5 minutes or until mixture begins to boil, stirring after 3 minutes. Mix well; scrape bowl. Continue microwaving on high 5 1/2 minutes; stir after 3 minutes. Stir in chips until melted. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour into buttered 9-inch square pan. Cool at room temperature; cut into squares. Makes 3 pounds.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.

I use heath toffee crunch instead of nuts. Everyone loves it. I have used this recipe for many years.

 Elle Clyde (Utah) says:
Terrible recipe. Followed directions to the letter and had spilled mixture all over the inside of the microwave. Could not finish making the fudge.

 Gayle (Alabama) replies:
Maybe needed a bigger bowl because it will get close to the top when cooking. Or maybe your micro is a higher wattage and you will have to adjust the time. It really is a great recipe. Better luck next time.

I have been making this recipe for over 20 years and it NEVER fails!! I have made it with all available flavors of chips and it always turns out excellent! Chocolate, White chocolate, Creme de menthe, Peanut butter Cinnamon,Carmel and chocolate peanut butter Rather than grease the pan I line it with foil. When the fudge gets hard, I lift if out, Turn it upside down on the cutting board and peel off the foil! It is then easy to cut it up.

I used to use this recipe every Christmas for gifts, but after I bought a new microwave it hasn't come out as well. Any suggestions?

I use a whole package of marshmallows instead of marshmallow cream, milk chocolate chips and almond extract. Delicious!

I could not find my recipe from 20 plus years ago that I had peeled off the jar, and was thrilled to find this. I've made 4 batches this week....1 chocolate, 1 eggnog, and 2 peanut butter using this basic recipe. For the peanut butter fudge you will need to buy 2 pkgs. of peanut butter chips if using the Reeses brand because they are 10 ounce bags. It is 1 bag plus 1/3 cup to make 12 ounces. I also add a very large heaping spoonful of peanut butter. For the eggnog fudge it is white chocolate chips, eggnog in place of milk, rum extract in place of vanilla, & some nutmeg. The possibilities are endless. Thanks so much for posting this recipe.

Thank you for sharing. I will try to alter this with memory. They used to have this on the side of the jar for peanut butter fudge. Best ever. You use the pb chips instead of chocolate but I believe I had to add a little peanut butter as well. Thanks again.

I use 1/2 light brown sugar and 1/2 white sugar and then I add a regular size jar of jiffy peanut butter instead of chips. Try it!

Try pouring the finished fudge into metal holiday tins with lids. I've been doing this for about 15 years now. You lightly spray the tin with pan spray. I put 1 pound in each of 3 tins. Then once completely cooled off I wrap then in plastic wrap. I sell these at Christmas Bazaars and do very well. And they will be good for months as long as they are kept in a cool dry place or even in the freezer.

You saved me! I am another one that remembered this recipe being on the side of the marshmallow cream jar. When I looked at the cooked recipe my heart sank. Using the microwave is so much easier than cooking any day and do much less clean up. Thank you for posting this recipe.

Wonderful! Comes out perfect. The only thing I tried different was adding 1/2 a cup butterscotch chips, took on a more creamy taste.

This is he perfect never fail fudge recipe. The only thing I do different is not grease the pan. Instead I line it with Reynolds non stick foil, then when he fudge is hard, simply lift it out by the foil, turn it over on the cutting board, peel off the foil and it is ready to cut!!! Also this recipe works well with all flavors of chip, such as white chocolate, peanut butter, butterscotch and even creme de mint.

I was so excited when I found the microwave directions on the back of the marshmallow creme jar. I never thought to write it down because I always figured it would be there. Thank you so much for putting this on your fudge directions on line. BLESS YOU! BLESS YOU! Please also put it back on the marshmallow creme containers. (But I did print this out so I'll always have it now).
