FRENCH HOT CHOCOLATE 
4 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
1/4 c. water
4 c. milk
1/2 c. half & half
1/2 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
Whipped topping

Combine chocolate with water; stir over low heat until chocolate melts. Gradually add milk, half & half, sugar and allspice. Cook over medium heat, stirring with wire whisk until hot. Stir in vanilla and peppermint. Pour into individual cups; fold nutmeg into whipped topping and top each cup. A candy cane in each cup makes a nice Christmas time garnish.
