GINGER SNAPS 
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 c. additional sugar for rolling dough in

Cream together sugar, butter, molasses and egg. Slowly add baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Then add flour. Chill dough for 1 hour. Roll 1 tablespoon of dough into a ball and roll in the extra sugar. Place cookies on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.
