PEANUT BRITTLE 
2 c. white sugar
1 c. white corn syrup
1/2 c. cold water
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 stick butter
1 lb. raw Spanish peanuts

Mix sugar, water and syrup. Boil until syrup becomes thready, stirring often. Add peanuts and stir until peanuts are slightly brown. Remove from heat. Add butter, flavoring and soda. Mix well. Pour into long shallow, buttered cookie sheet. Cool. Break into pieces.
