FAMOUS AMOS RAISIN - FILLED
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

2 c. (4 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. water
2 med. sized eggs
2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. raisins
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Beat softened butter, brown and white sugars, vanilla, water and eggs in a large bowl with electric mixer until creamy and thoroughly blended. By hand, stir in flour, baking soda and salt until well mixed. Stir in raisins and chocolate pieces. Using teaspoon from measuring set, spoon dough by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Allow 1 to 1 1/2 inches between cookies for spreading. Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) for 8 minutes, or until cookies are nicely browned, depending on how crisp or well done you like them. Makes about 6 dozen.
