GERMAN CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE | |
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix 2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened 2 eggs 1 1/2 c. sugar FROSTING: 1 c. Milnot 1 c. sugar 3 egg yolks 1/2 c. butter, softened 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 c. coconut 1 c. chopped nuts Grease 9 x 13 inch pan. Prepare cake mix according to package but do not overbake. Pour half of batter into pan. Reserve the other half of batter. In a separate bowl whip cream cheese mixture over batter in pan, then add reserved batter. Bake at 325 degrees for 1-1 1/4 hours. To prepare frosting: Combine Milnot, sugar, egg yolks, butter, vanilla, coconut and nuts in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until mixture thickens. Cool. Spread over cooled cake. Serves 15. Keep cake refrigerated. |
