GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. butter flavoring
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 bar German chocolate

Mix sugar, shortening, and eggs; then add vanilla, butter flavoring, and buttermilk. Sift dry ingredients together and add to mix. Melt 1 bar German chocolate with 1/4 cup hot water and add. Bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours.

Icing: Melt 1/2 bar German Chocolate and 1/4 teaspoon butter in 1/4 cup hot water. Mix 1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar and a dash of salt. Mix in chocolate or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Pour over cooled cake.
