SWEET CORN BREAD 
3/4 c. corn meal
1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. plus 1 tbsp.milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 tbsp. butter, melted

Combine dry ingredients, stir in 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon milk. Stir in egg. Put butter in 9 inch baking pan in oven, when hot pour batter in pan. Pour 1/2 cup milk over top and do not stir it in. Bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Serves 8.

This recipe is fantastic!!! Very different from the usual dry cornbread. It is a little creamier due to the milk that is poured over the top, and it has a slight buttery flavor from the butter poured in the pan. Also, depsite the name, it is not a very sweet cornbread. I have made several different recipes for cornbread and this one is now my favorite - hands-down!!
