CHEWY BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES 
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts (optional)

Melt together brown sugar and butter, then cool. Add the remaining ingredients to the cooled mixture. Bake in 8" square pan at 325 degrees for about 15 to 18 minutes or until done in the middle. Cut before they are too cold and roll in powdered sugar.
