STEAK WITH TOMATO SAUCE 
2 lb. round or chuck steak, 1" - 1 1/2" thick
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. flour
1/4 c. fat or salad oil
1 lg. onion, sliced
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 c. water
1 (4 oz.) can mushroom stems & pieces

Cut meat in half or serving size pieces. Season with salt. Rub with part of flour. Pound rest of flour into meat. Continue to turn, flour and pound until all flour is used. Heat fat; add meat; brown well. Add onion during browning. Pour tomato sauce, water and mushrooms over meat. Cover; bake in 350 degree oven for 2 to 3 hours until tender. Makes 6 servings.
