CREOLE HAMBURGERS | |
1 lb. lean ground beef 3/4 c. uncooked Quaker oats 1 c. whole milk 1 med. onion, chopped 1 c. water Salt and pepper to taste 1 c. catsup 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/4 c. vinegar Mix together meat, oats, milk, onion, salt and pepper. Shape into 2 inch meatballs and place in shallow baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, mix together catsup, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, water and sugar. Carefully drain all grease from meatballs. Cover meatballs with sauce and return to oven for 30 minutes. If more creole sauce is desired, prepare same as above but heat on the stove (in a saucepan) stirring occasionally. Good served over rice. Serves 4-6. |
