RICH POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter, softened
1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. plain flour

Cream butter and Crisco until fluffy. Add sugar. Cream. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each egg. Sift flour and baking powder. Alternate with milk. Begin and end with flour. Add vanilla. Cook in a well-greased and floured pan at 350 degrees for about 1 hour.
