FRUIT COCKTAIL DESSERT 
1 c. sifted flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 (16 oz.) can fruit cocktail
Juice from fruit cocktail
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts

Sift dry ingredients and add beaten eggs, juice from fruit cocktail to make batter. Add vanilla, then fold in fruit cocktail. Pour into slightly greased pan (7x11x2).

Mix brown sugar and nuts. Sprinkle over top of batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Serve warm, top with whipped cream.
