ONION CELESTE | |
2-3 lg. Bermuda onions 1/4 lb. butter 8 slices stale French bread 1/2 lb. Swiss cheese 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 can milk Saute onions in butter until they are yellow and transparent, about 1/2 hour. Put 1/3 into a 2 quart baking dish. Layer cheese and bread and rest of onions (onions, bread, cheese, onions, bread cheese, onions). Cover with a can of cream of chicken soup and a can of heated milk. Bake uncovered at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. |
