100 YEAR OLD CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 c. sour milk
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
2 eggs
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda

Cream shortening and sugar well. Add well-beaten eggs. Sift flour, cocoa and salt 3 times and add to mix, then add sour milk and mix well. Add soda dissolved in boiling water. Bake in greased and floured pan for 35-40 minutes at 300 degrees. (May take longer.)
