JUBILEE JUMBLES 
1/2 c. soft shortening
1 c. brown sugar (packed)
1/2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir in milk and vanilla. Sift flour, soda, and salt and stir in. Blend in nuts. Chill 1 hour. Drop rounded spoonfuls on greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees about 10 minutes, or until delicately browned. While warm, frost with Burnt Butter Glaze and garnish with nuts, candied fruit or etc.

BURNT BUTTER GLAZE:

Heat 2 tbsp. butter until golden brown. Beat in until smooth 2 cups powdered sugar and 1/4 cup evaporated milk.
