COCONUT POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
5 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. plain flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. coconut flavoring

GLAZE:

1/2 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. coconut flavoring

Cream sugar and Crisco until light. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add alternately with milk. Beat well, add flavoring and coconut last. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes.

FOR GLAZE: Bring to boil water and sugar. Boil for 1 minute, remove from heat, add flavoring. Pour over cake, turn off oven and return cake to oven for about 10 minutes. Cool in pan about 30 minutes.
