DUTCH GINGER COOKIES 
I love ginger so I double the amount for more ginger taste!

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp. molasses
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. ground ginger (McCormick)

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mix ingredients in order as given. Roll into walnut-size balls. Roll in granulated sugar.

Bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes.

Note: Top will get a crinkled surface. Bake only until set, not hard.
