FUDGY BANANA BROWNIES | |
1 1/2 c. quick-cooking oats 2/3 c. brown sugar, packed 3/4 c. chopped almonds or walnuts 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. butter, melted 1 med. banana, extra-ripe 1 med. banana, firm 1 pkg. fudge brownie mix (21.5 oz.) In bowl, mix together oats, sugar, nuts, flour and soda. Stir in butter to form crumb mixture. Press evenly into bottom of 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Puree extra ripe banana (1/2 cup). Chop firm banana. Prepare brownie mix according to directions, substituting 1/2 cup pureed bananas for water and stirring in chopped bananas. Spread batter over partially baked crust. Return to oven and bake according to package directions, adding 5 minutes to baking time. Cool. Cut into bars. Makes 32 bars. |
