SWEET CUCUMBER PICKLE 
8 lbs. cucumbers
5 lbs. sugar
3 pints vinegar
2 c. pickling lime
2 gallons cold water
3 tbsp. pickling spices

Wash and slice cucumbers. Cover and soak in lime water for 24 hours. Rinse 3 or 4 times in cold water. Soak 3 hours in cold water. Rinse 3 or 4 times in cold water; drain well. Soak in the vinegar, sugar and spices for approximately 8 hours. Green food coloring can be added if you like. Tie spices in cheesecloth or put in tea holder. Cook slowly for 20 minutes after starting to boil. Seal in jars.
