GERMAN MEAT LOAF 
2 c. soft, unseeded rye bread crumbs
1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut, drained
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 tsp. caraway seed
1/2 tsp. ground pepper
2 tbsp. catsup or chili sauce
2 lbs. lean ground beef

Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except meat. Add the ground beef and mix well. Pat into a thick, flat loaf approximately 10 inches long and 8 inches wide, and place on a rack in a greased or foil lined 9x13 inch pan. Bake for 1 1/4 hours or until nicely browned. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
