CATH'S SPAGHETTI SAUCE 
1 med. onion
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 to 3/4 lb. ground beef
24 oz. tomato juice (use more if you like thin sauce)
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 tbsp. sugar or 1 tsp Sweet 'N Low
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Red pepper to taste

Chop onion in medium frying pan. Add olive oil and ground beef (crumbled or in meatballs). Cook until meat is brown and onion is tender. Add the remaining ingredients; stir to mix and simmer for one hour. Stir occasionally and serve over spaghetti cooked according to package instructions. Sauce may also be used for beef-a-roni and lasagne.
