ORANGE BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE
COOKIES
 
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. grated orange peel

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg; blend well. Stir in dry ingredients and orange peel. Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart in ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar to 1/8 inch thick. Bake at 375 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are slightly browned. Cool 1 minute, then remove from cookie sheet.

CHOCOLATE GLAZE:

6 oz. pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 c. butter
3 tbsp. light corn syrup
