SCALLOPED OYSTERS 
1 pt. oysters
4 tbsp. oyster liquor
1 tbsp. milk or cream
1/2 c. day-old bread crumbs
1 c. cracker crumbs
1/2 c. melted butter
Salt and pepper to taste

Butter a 1 1/2 quart shallow casserole dish. Mix bread and cracker crumbs and add the butter. Put a thin layer in the bottom of the buttered casserole dish. Cover with half of the oysters. Sprinkle on a little salt and pepper.

Add 2 tablespoons of the oyster liquor and one tablespoon milk or cream. Repeat second layer with remaining ingredients and cover top with remaining crumbs. Bake in 450 degree oven for 30 minutes. Do not prepare with more than two layers of oysters. 4 servings.
