GIANT POLKA DOT COOKIES | |
1 c. shortening 1 c. granulated sugar 1 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 2 tsp. water 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 2 c. quick rolled oats 1 c. M&M'S® candies Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly cream shortening, sugars and vanilla. Beat in eggs, then water. In separate bowl, sift together flour, soda and salt. Add to the creamed mixture, blending well. Stir in rolled oats. On a greased cookie sheet, for each cookie, spread 1/4 cup of cookie dough into a 3 1/2-inch circle. Make circles 2 1/2-inches apart. Press M&M'S® in the top. Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes. Switch the cookie sheets after 4 minutes for more even baking. Makes 20 giant cookies. |
