MACARONI AND CHEESE 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. elbow macaroni
3 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 c. milk
8 oz. Cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 c. bread crumbs

Prepare macaroni as label directs; drain after cooked. Place butter in casserole dish and cover with paper towel. Heat on high for 30 seconds or until melted. Stir flour, salt, and pepper into melted butter until smooth. Gradually add milk to the mixture. Cook on high for 4 minutes or until mixture thickens and is smooth, stirring several times. Remove from microwave and add cheese, stirring, until cheese is melted. Drain cooked macaroni; place in bowl and add cheese sauce. Cook on high for 5 to 7 minutes, turning the dish twice while cooking. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top of casserole and serve.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
