SOUR CREAM BISCUITS | |
1 c. sifted flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. dairy sour cream 1/4 c. dairy half and half Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Sift and measure flour; sift again with baking powder, sugar, baking soda and salt into a medium bowl. In a small bowl, blend sour cream and half and half. Make a well in center of dry ingredients. Pour in sour cream mixture and stir until dough follows fork around bowl. If too dry, add more half and half. Turn dough onto lightly floured board and knead gently 10 to 12 strokes. Roll out or pat dough to half inch thickness. Using a 2 inch biscuit cutter, cut biscuits without twisting cutter. Bake on ungreased baking sheet 10 minutes. Makes 8 or 9 two-inch biscuits. |
