JUMBO RAISIN COOKIES 
1 c. water
2 c. raisins
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. allspice

Boil water and raisins together for 5 minutes. Cool. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add vanilla, cooled raisin mixture and chopped nuts. Stir in sifted dry ingredients and blend. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
