JUMBO RAISIN COOKIES 
2 c. raisins
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. water
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. butter
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Combine raisins and water and heat to boiling. Boil until plump, about 3 to 4 minutes. DO NOT DRAIN. Sift dry ingredients together. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Stir in raisins and remaining water. Add flour mixture gradually, blending thoroughly after each addition. Stir in nuts. Drop by tablespoons about 1 inch apart on greased baking sheets. Bake in 375 degree oven for 12-15 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
