GINGER PEAR PIE 
1 9-inch pie shell, unbaked
4 c. sliced pears
2 tsp. ground ginger
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. quick tapioca

TOPPING:

1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar

Blend together pears, ginger, sugar and tapioca and allow to stand for 20 minutes, then place in pie shell. Cut 1/2 cup butter into flour; add brown sugar and mix well. Sprinkle over pears. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
