CREAM WAFERS 
1 c. soft butter
1/2 c. whipping cream
2 c. flour
Granulated sugar

Thoroughly mix butter, cream, and flour. Cover and chill. Take dough out of refrigerator (about 1/2 at a time). Roll until about 1/8 inch thick on floured, covered board. Cut into 1 1/2 inch circles. Transfer rounds with a spatula to piece of waxed paper; cover with sugar and coat both sides. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Prick with fork, making 4 rows. Bake 7-9 minutes at 375 degrees (do not brown).

CREAMY FILLING:

1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat until smooth and fluffy; tint to any color if desired. Spread between 2 wafers.
