1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. flour, sifted
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream ingredients in order given. Grease baking sheet. Drop half teaspoon; place nut in middle of each. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees (bake until edges are brown). Yield: 25 cookies.
